Cricket force weekend

Plans are well advanced for this weekend CricketForce event. The pavilion has undergone major work over the last few months and we need to carry out a lot of work this weekend to complete everything for the coming season. Please make ever effort to come along and lend a hand. Both days will start at 10am and we aim to finish by 5pm. There are many jobs to do including painting, gardening, soil shifting, rubbish clearing, block laying and cleaning. If you know the sort of work that you fancy then it would help if you could bring along some tools for the task: Brushes and rollers for the painters. Spades/shovels for the soil shifters. Secateurs, loppers, spades and trowels for the gardeners. Brick laying tools for the brick layers. If you don’t have a ‘specialism’ just come along and join in. Ever hour of help will make an enormous difference and all volunteers will receive a CricketForce2008 T-shirt. There will be jobs for everyone regardless of age. Please remember to wear old cloths and sensible footwear. Bring some working gloves if you have them. I look forward to working with you at some point over the weekend. Schools Competition

Once again Maltby Cricket Club is planning a schools’ cricket tournament for the summer of 2008. You are invited to enter teams into the Michael Covell Memorial Trophy (under 15s) and the Ropner Trust Trophy (under 13s).

The finals of both competitions will be played at Maltby. Unfortunately it will not be possible to offer the facilities at Maltby for earlier rounds due to the increased number of fixtures being played this year. The finals will take place at Maltby during the last two weeks of June and the first week of July. To enable this to happen please make sure that all games are played within the agreed timescale.

I do hope that you will be able to support the competitions in 2008. I look forward to hearing from you. Deadline for entry is 4 April 2008.

Under 11s practice- NEW TIME!

Under 11 practice will now start at 6.15 on a Friday. Parents, please remember not to drop children off too early (as the gates may be locked) and not to leave children without adult supervision until a coach has arrived. This is in the interests of the safety and security of our junior members. Many thanks.

Wine and Cheese Event

To celebrate the opening of our new bar and extended pavilion we are holding our annual wine and cheese event at 1.00pm. There will be a selection of wines and cheeses to whet your appetite and we anticipate finishing the tasting by 2.30pm. Following the tasting there will be a BBQ or similar (depending upon numbers) and of course the bar will be open throughout. We would be delighted to see you.
